Wolves (about time)

 It is about time I wrote about wolves 


I love wolves (well,duh). They are really awesome animals with an undeserved bad reputation. Did you know that the Eskimos respected wolves? But most others thought that the wolves howl was creepy and eerie. Seeing  their big teeth and sharp claws also scared people .Many stories were made with wolves as the bad guy. The things is ,wolves avoid humans at all costs! Plus, dogs evolve from wolves so why are we so scared of them???When people came from Europe to North America they killed tons of buffalo, deer, and elk which are prey of the wolves so wolves ate farmers cattle and sheep .So then there became bounties for wolves !You could get money for killing them! Now there are only 5000 Gray wolves in the USA. There are 100 red wolves in the USA. Now people are hunting wolves again.400 wolves, almost half of Idaho’s population were killed. Some Organizations like Defenders of Wildlife, are working to save the wolf by putting trackers on wolves so farmers know when they are near, putting things that deter wolves near cattle, buying guard dogs and range riders to protect the cattle, and providing farmers with food to feed their cattle so they stay farther away from wolves. Recently there has been an anti-wolf proposal created by wolf haters in Wyoming that says people can kill wolves on site including pregnant females and cubs! I can’t believe U.S. fish and wildlife directors have given in to this outrageous act.

Solar panels (earth fact)

Hey everyone!I was reading a book called recycle this book and, it had a page or to on solar panels.The book was a bunch of children's authors telling you how to be enviormentally friendly.i don't remember which author wrote about solar panels but anyways they bought one even though it cost alot.They were very happy once she got it and got to watch there electricity meter go backwards!The electric company had to PAY her and her husband!!!!They were very happy with theirs and i hope this encourages you to get one to. I know that they cost alot but the more people who buy them the less $$$$ they will cost!Plus don't you think solar panels have many advantages?

Giraffes

Earth fact: earth hour

Hey everyone sorry I didn't post anything for the last two days I was very busy .So anyways,I was surfing the web and found a story on msnbc about earth hour.You know how on earth hour we are all suppose to turn off our lights?? Well now some people want to do "human achievement hour" instead.HAH is were you turn ON the lights and watch a movie and celebrate human achievement.i will make a poll to see which you would rather do.

Polar bears (earth fact of the day)

hello everyone!Did you know that because the ice is slowly shrinking in the artic polar bears are in danger????? in 2004 four polar bears died trying to get back on the ice .

earth fact of the day!!! Walking

Anywhere you can walk to instead of drive is wayyyyy better for the enviorment.you could also skateboard,scooter,or bike as well.It would help the enviorment ALOT.

Hi everyone!!! I am going vegetarian for a week!!Did you know that the amount of land it takes to feed 1 person who eats meat can sustain TWENTY vegetarians!!!!! You don't have to become a vegetarian for forever you could just do it for a day ,week, month,or year!!!!

ROBOT FISH

Hey everyone whats up?I was looking at websites about animals and found a link that led me to discovery.com were there was a story about robot fish.Some scientists that put the 'bot in the water with fish (without turning it on ) and it was ignored. When they turned it on(it started swimming) all the real fish fell behind it because it is easier to swim when there is a draft (i think that's what is is called )
that the lead fish (in this case the 'bot) creates.This could be used to lead fish away from oil spills and other disasters.
