A Review of the Hunger Games

I have read the books in The Hunger Games series over and over. It  is my favorite book series EVER.
The Hunger Games are about a teen named Katniss who lives in former North America, now called Panem. There are 12 districts that mine, harvest, or build various everyday things for the capitol, were everyone is super rich. District 12, where Katniss lives, mines coal. Her dad died in a mining accident.
She and her best friend Gale, poach illegally to feed their families. To remind the districts that the capitol is in charge, every year each district must provide one girl and one boy to fight to the death in the arena. These “games“ for the capitol’s entertainment, are called the Hunger Games. Only one kid comes out of the arena and is crowned champion and is given a lot of money and a new house. Katniss’s little sister gets chosen as the girl tribute because her name is pulled out of a huge glass ball, like a lottery of sorts. Katniss volunteers to go in her place.
That is how the book series begins. I highly recommend as a book anyone would enjoy!
